Position Summary:

GDP is seeking an experienced and dynamic Development Director to lead its strategic fundraising and partnership development efforts. The Development Director will be responsible for identifying new funding opportunities, cultivating relationships with donors and partners, and overseeing the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to support GDP's mission and programs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to diversify and increase revenue streams.
• Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with potential institutional donors, foundations, corporations, and individual major donors.
• Lead proposal development efforts, ensuring high-quality and compelling grant applications.
• Manage existing donor relationships, ensuring effective communication and stewardship.
• Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns.
• Monitor and report on fundraising progress against established goals.
• Represent GDP at relevant conferences, meetings, and networking events.
• Collaborate with program staff to align fundraising efforts with program needs and impact.
• Stay informed about trends and best practices in international development and fundraising.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration); Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or partnership management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Proven track record of successfully securing grants and major gifts from institutional and individual donors.
• Excellent understanding of the international development landscape and funding priorities.
• Strong proposal writing and grant management skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Georgian is a significant asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Experience with CRM or donor management software is a plus.
