Global VAT Compliance (GVC) is a leading provider of tax compliance services based in The Hague, The Netherlands. We help our clients comply with their VAT obligations through automation solutions and expert advisory. Our in-house workflow software, Mytaxflow, supports our global operations in over 90 countries, and we are looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer in Tbilisi, Georgia, to help develop and enhance this platform.

We are seeking a dedicated Software Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in developing web applications using PHP and modern JavaScript frameworks. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Laravel, VueJS, and other web technologies. They should be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and be keen on continuous learning and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

** Develop and maintain web applications using PHP, Laravel, and VueJS.

** Design scalable and maintainable backend architectures and ensure seamless integration with frontend systems.

** Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and documentation.

** Collaborate with team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive code to enhance the user experience.

** Implement APIs and ensure backend services communicate effectively with frontend systems.

** Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide work breakdown, and create timelines.

** Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software.

** Engage in stakeholder communication to understand project requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.

Requirements:

** 3-5 years of professional experience in software development.

** Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

** Proven expertise in PHP, Laravel, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (VueJS, jQuery, AJAX).

** Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.

** Proficient in version control systems like Git and Bitbucket.

** Familiarity with Agile methodologies and workflows.

** Experience with API integration and development.

** Knowledge of web servers such as Apache.

** Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude and a focus on delivering high-quality code.

** Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills.

** Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

** Capable of managing multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

** Experience with project management tools like Jira and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams is a plus.

** Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
